The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell

Updated: Jul 5, 2022

This is a phenomenal short story to open up the perspective of modern readers about what life was like in the 1920s and an excellent way to open up conversations about morals and ethics.

Attached, there will be several files such as PowerPoint presentations and short quizzes to hand out to the class.

There is a summarized and simplified version of the story for lower-level students or teachers who do not have enough time with their students.

The PPT has some warm-up questions and quickly progresses, so please look at it before using it. It is relatively short, so feel free to add to it however you deem fit.

There is a Keynote version of it as well.

Below will be both the summarized version and the full version of the story, so please be careful which one you choose to print.

Finally, some short reading comprehension worksheets can be used as quizzes or partner work in class. Feel free to add to them to turn them into a more substantial test of some kind if you would like, but they are primarily for just basic reading comprehension. (10 Questions) (no answer key)

Here is a short vocabulary activity that would accompany the vocabulary in the short story.
